Our Commitment to Equal and Inclusive Care

Second Chance Services LLC is committed to providing high-quality, compassionate behavioral health care to every individual we serve — without discrimination of any kind. We believe that access to mental health care is a fundamental right, and we are dedicated to creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for all patients, families, and visitors.


Notice of Nondiscrimination

Second Chance Services LLC complies with applicable federal civil rights laws, including Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975.

Accessibility for People with Disabilities

Second Chance Services LLC provides reasonable accommodations to people with disabilities to ensure equal access to our services. If you require an accommodation to access our services — including physical accessibility, communication assistance, or modifications to our standard procedures — please contact our office and we will work with you to meet your needs.

We also provide auxiliary aids and services, free of charge, to people with disabilities when necessary to ensure effective communication, including:

  • Communication assistance as needed for clinical visits
  • Accessible telehealth options

Language Assistance Services

If you have limited English proficiency (LEP) or do not speak English as your primary language, you have the right to receive language assistance services at no cost to you in order to communicate effectively with our practice. Please inform us of your language needs when scheduling or arriving for your appointment, and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate you.

Section 1557 — Affordable Care Act Compliance

Second Chance Services LLC complies with Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, which prohibits discrimination in health programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance, including programs administered through Medicaid and Medicare.

Maryland and DC State Protections

In addition to federal law, Second Chance Services LLC complies with all applicable Maryland and Washington DC civil rights and non-discrimination laws, including the Maryland Equal Access to Public Accommodations Act and the DC Human Rights Act, both of which provide broad protections against discrimination in healthcare settings.


How to File a Complaint

If you believe that Second Chance Services LLC has failed to provide services in a non-discriminatory manner, or that you have been discriminated against in connection with our services, you have the right to file a grievance with us and/or with the appropriate regulatory agency.

We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and work to resolve it in a fair and timely manner. We will not retaliate against any individual for filing a complaint or participating in a discrimination investigation.
